I read
The Ordeal of Gilbert Pinfold by Evelyn Waugh over the weekend. I didn't like it as well some other books I've read by him (
The Loved One for example) but it was a fascinating example of paranoia literature. The frightening thing is that apparently it was somewhat autobiographical. I'd not like to live through that boat ride. (3.5 stars of 5)
I started Alex Haley's
Roots last night. I've had it sitting around for quite awhile without having picked it up yet, so decided it was time. This one may take awhile to get through (700+ pages).
